The Reef Rescue Network (RRN), founded by the Perry Institute for Marine Science (PIMS), is a dynamic coalition uniting non-profit organizations and forward-thinking businesses invested in coral restoration. Committed to bolstering coral reef health, the RRN focuses on revitalizing coral populations and fostering resilience in the face of modern global challenges like climate change, pollution, and coral disease. By addressing this urgent need for restoration, the RRN serves as a beacon of hope in safeguarding Caribbean coral reefs for future generations.
The Reef Rescue Network, together with the Perry Institute for Marine Science, builds coral nurseries, creates location-specific coral restoration goals, grows corals within-in-situ (open ocean) nurseries, and plants nursery-reared corals onto reefs. Additionally, we monitor the success of our restoration efforts from individual coral to the entire reef ecosystem.
